Rape compensation claims in the civil courts (as distinct from the criminal courts) can be made on a No Win, No Fee basis. We will fund the case from start to finish and will cover any expenses such as court fees or the cost of a medical report. If you win your case then we will recover legal costs and expenses from the opponent. If you do not succeed then no charge is made and you will not be left out of pocket. Our lawyers will be happy to talk matters through with you and answer any questions you may have about funding your claim.
Because the Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority does not pay the legal costs of rape victims claiming compensation under the CICA scheme, we operate on a No Win – No Fee basis. Our fees will be deducted from your compensation at the rate of 20% plus VAT. If your CICA rape compensation claim is unsuccessful then we will not make any charge.
Many people now have legal expenses insurance that will cover them for a claim in the civil courts. Legal expenses policies are often attached to other insurance products so it’s always worth checking whether you have cover. If you think you may have legal expenses insurance then we will tell you whether your legal costs will be covered.
